About the Author

Gary Powell

I joined the police force aged just eighteen and spent my working life dealing with the best and worst human nature has to offer. I worked on Great Britain’s transport system including the London Underground – a unique policing environment. When I started there were no radio communications let alone mobile phones – it was dangerous place to work, and you soon learnt about human nature. My experiences of investigating, murder, robbery and terrorism motivates me to write realistic crime stories. I enjoy writing about real locations; places where people around the world can identify with.

I am also a public speaker details of my talks can be found on speakernet.co.uk as well as a qualified guide at St Paul’s Cathedral London.

Mind The Killer

In the heart of London’s sprawling underground, DI Ryan McNally and DS Marcia Frost of the British Transport Police Major Investigations Team find themselves unravelling the threads of a cold case two decades old. The skeletal remains unearthed at Lambeth North station set the stage for a chilling narrative that plunges deep into the heart of unsolved murder.

Just as the pieces seem to fall into place, a sinister new mystery unfurls. A string of female suicides across various underground locations emerges to be a mask for a darkly orchestrated series of murders. As McNally’s team delves deeper, the eerie connection between the cold case and the recent murders grows impossible to ignore.

The Cutting Room

DI Ryan McNally stands in the dock at Southwark Crown Court accused of a vicious assault; he awaits the jury’s verdict. A guilty decision would be career-ending and might send him to prison.

The British Transport Police’s Major Investigations Team are called in to investigate the discovery of human remains deposited in a left luggage facility at Liverpool Street Station and on the backseat of a London black cab at Victoria’s busy bus terminal.

The team’s priority is the identification of the victim. Their only clues are a wedding band and a tattoo. McNally’s detectives have proven they can work under the most stressful of circumstances in Britain’s most unique policing environment; but with ever-growing tensions between some of its members reaching boiling point they need to come together quickly to meet their toughest challenge yet.
